72.0kg!!!!

Woo hoo! This was a long one coming. I knew that as soon as I hit 73.0kg things would really start to slow down as I'd experience the first plateau. It looks like things might be slowly picking up again though. I expected to have a few stagnant weeks due to the amount of weight training I was doing, and actually thought that the next drop may be further into the future than this so I am really happy.

People keep telling me that they don't believe I'm that heavy. To be honest, I don't think I ever looked 77kg. At my biggest I was only a size AU12/14, most people who weigh-in at 77kg are closer to a size 16/18. I don't know why I was different, I guess I lot of it would've had to do with body fat percentages. I've also trained weights so I probably had a slightly higher muscle mass than others at that weight. Not that it matters, I could've been a size 16/18 for how miserable I was. I really struggled to get my body back on track after I had glandular fever but I'm on the right path now and that's the main thing.

My fitness is also improving like you wouldn't believe. That slight drop in weight combined with all the exercise I'm doing has meant that I'm regularly getting lower heart rates meaning that I'm allowed to run a lot longer and a lot harder than I could two months ago. The cross-training I'm doing is probably contributing as well. After being in a rut for what was almost two years I am so excited to be finally feeling like things are on track! I know I have a long way to go before the marathon (there is no way I would attempt it when I'm still over 70kg - do you know what that would do to my knees?!?!?!?), but I'm definitely headed in the right direction.

My original big goal was to get to 72kg. My next goal is 67kg. Hopefully the next weigh-in will be another 72.0kg or a 71.5kg. We're getting close now!
