Early Start Is Hurting

I got up at 4:30am to do my workout today. I am paying for it now! For the first few hours following I felt really good, but I am slowly going downhill. I think next time I decide that it's a good idea to get up that early I will make sure that I also go to bed early the night before. Makes sense, huh?

I did a circuit workout this morning. Some stepping, hitting the bag, weights (dumbbell chest press, dead rows, push-ups, single leg squats) and abs to finish. It was a really nice change to just running or just doing weights. I think circuits might be the way to go for a little while. The best part was that I actually enjoyed it! I don't oftne 'enjoy' exercise, so it's great to finish a session and already be looking forward to the next one. It was just a shame that I had to cut it short so that I could get to work...

Yesterday wasn't a flash day for me. I knew that it had to be my rest day (my muscles were begging for a break!) and I was hoping to make the most of relaxing, but instead I ended up eating my way through most of the house! I started well with my Opti fast for breakfast, then had a chicken and salad sandwich for lunch (grain bread, no butter!), but after that it all went down hill! Somehow between lunch and dinner I managed to fit in cherry slice, a bottle of sprite, snake lollies and a crunchie chocolate bar. After my good results at measurements the day before, I think we can officially call yesterday a day of self-sabotage. At least, in retrospect, I am aware of it now. It makes it easier to stay on track today knowing what I did yesterday. Starting the day with exercise always makes it easier to keep focused, so cross your fingers, hopefully today will not be like yesterday!
