It Hurts.

Today was without a doubt the hardest session of the last month. Strictly speaking it was an easy session (a recovery run) but after the intense four days of training I'd just been through it was like total hell!

Yesterday was another big day! Todd and i had another game of squash (only half an hour) and we were both looking a little sluggish. After fifteen minutes I could feel myself getting cranky and I'd had enough. We both struggled through though and by lunchtime my glutes were screaming at me.

Then in the afternoon it was off to see my trainer. After such good results the week before I knew it was going to be a hard session. I had no idea. Instead of treadmill in between sets we switched to boxing. Oh my God!!! When you're not used to boxing it's a killer. We did heaps of upper body fatigue stuff and today I am paying for it. My whole body just feels heavy, but at the same time I'm feeling really good. Full of energy, but not actually able to do anything... It's a weird feeling...

So the run this morning sucked. I really don't think that there's any other way to put it. Every step hurt more than the last and each metre was harder than the last. I was so glad when it was over!!!

So if you look at all that it definitely seems like the exercise is going well. Now I just need to get the eating in order. We did have a few treats over the weekend, so I'll have to be a bit stricted this week. I made sure though that we walked the dog everyday, except Sunday, so hopefully I did enough each day to get me across the line.

Looking back over all that exercise I can't help but feel just a little proud of myself!
