Got my first rejection letter from a publisher this morning. They tell me (the incredible people who have actually been published) that this is a normal part of the process. My Masters supervisor is telling me to stick with it and not lose faith, but I can see how easy it will be to just give up.
It was Randy Pausch who said "The brick walls are there to test how badly we really want something".
Just gotta stick with it I guess.
Spent a couple of hours at the beach yesterday (I was off work because of this stupid pleurisy and the thing about pleurisy is that lying down hurts more than sitting up, so sleep isn't really an option) just doing some writing and pondering things. Was beautiful to be out in the fresh air and the sunshine. Got lots of writing done.
