What's a Beach?

In my head beaches need salt water, but according to every dictionary I could find a beach is just the shore of a body of water. Odd. Very, very odd.

So here is the "beach" in Canada. No salty air, no yellow or white sand, but pretty all the same.
And freezing. Did I mention how cold it was?

There is a lifeguard tower in the distance so I guess that makes it beach-y.

But yesterday wasn't all about beaches. There was also the hunt to find Jumbo, the African circus elephant tragically killed a long time ago by a train.
We found him and from the picture you can see we conquered. Kristina operating in full ninja mode to catch him

Of all the pictures we took of Dumbo - you had to choose the one of me climbing onto the thing :S

I'm so vindicated by your dictionary definitions - a beach is a beach - ocean or lake :P

*hugs*

I can take it down if you like. I put it up though because I thought it was awesome. It's such an athletic, ninja type shot. If there was one like that of me I would have put it up - promise!!! :-)
