Sunshine After The Rain
After being absolutely ripped apart by the review board with my dissertation (see the post on the Chew Like Hell blog) I came home today to an email from an old editor of mine, asking me to write a feature for her magazine. I'm a little excited and just a little bit proud. Ten minutes earlier I'd been thinking that was the end of the writing thing, time to throw the laptop out, clearly I suck at it.

Just goes to show how subjective such assessments are. Believe in you and believe in your audience. The academic assessors don't count for much out there in the big wide literary world.

Don't take their criticism to heart. Take what they say onboard and either decide to use it or not.
