Trying New Things.

Confession time: I have tried internet dating in recent weeks. Laugh with me. It's been a funny experience. I think we might add it to the list of things Stephanie tried but didn't really get into...

I've had fifteen offers since Sunday morning. That's good, right?

This is sounding like an excellent story in the brewing!! You know how you were experimenting with screen play? I wonder if you could write a story that visually flowed into email and chat messages - this could be my interest in multimodality talking...

You're an ideas woman, Kristina! It hadn't even occurred to me to find the story in it. Hmmm....

Two of my friends met via Internet dating and are a very good match. Prior to them getting together that way and subsequently marrying I was mega cynical. Now I think it falls into the category of "there are lots of ways to meet both Mr Right and Mr Wrong". Essentially, it's still a matter of luck ... being in the right place at the right time. It's just that now one of those "right" places may be cyberspace. Be careful and cautious whichever way.

Being ultra cautious!!! Not giving away any information on there. From what I've written you could be Sherlock Holmes and still not track me down. The idea of letting someone who you can't get a vibe about know that much kinda scares me but I thought I should try something new.

It's just a bit of fun. Haven't accepted any offers to exchange emails (how funny that that is a big step!) or phone numbers yet. Just little messages online. I'm such a snob I can't see it working out though as none of them seem to have passed English at school... I want to edit their emails!!! Trying to remain calm about it... ;-)

After being asked out on over 40 dates in a week and a half I have shut down the dating site. It all got incredibly overwhelming and was making me anxious.

I would really hope that no one I know would describe me as desperate. Sometimes I get a little lonely and I think how nice it would be to share certain things with someone special, but I don't think I'm the sort of girl who goes "you, you'll do!"

After 40 invitations in 40 days I'm guessing though that some of those guys were exactly those sort of people... I'd like to say my profile content was quite clever and witty, but my profile pic certainly didn't justify the response I got.

Still feeling a little uneasy about it all. The fun has definitely gone out of the activity and I ended up stressing each time I declined an invitation (because I'd never even received an email from some of them!!!!) even though the chances of them being upset by the rejection were slim.

I'm such a traditional girl with some things, I like old fashioned courting and romance, it should've been fairly obvious that internet dating (even if it was just for a laugh) was not going to sit well with me.

Game over.
