Yesterday I managed to talk one of my gym friends, Emma, into a semi-date with her fiance's best friend (she'd been pushing for a blind date - I'd been pushing for her to leave me alone. We called it a compromise). One of the things I'm enjoying about being single is reconnecting with all my friends, particularly those who got neglected while I was in a relationship. It was great spending time with Emma and Matt. They threw the nicest dinner party that I have ever been to and I came home with all these fantastic ideas for my house. Like my friend Kristina, Emma seems to have quite a knack for restoring old furniture and there are a few pieces lying around my house (courtesy of my step-gran Jane) that I'm starting to think would actually look quite good if I took the time to stain or paint them. Thinking about wandering into the shops this morning for a few more ideas.
And the semi-date, I hear you ask. He was a really nice guy, a really nice guy, but we'll just have to see with that one. (Ok that was me being nice, we had absolutely nothing in common whatsoever. Cross that one off)

Wait - rephrase - Emma talked me into the semi-date, not the other way round. What a typo!
