Just finished reading Jeff Lindsay's highly praised debut novel. As always I'm a little behind with my reading (it came out years ago...) but holidays have meant that all the books I bought last year are finally looking like being read.
I actually really enjoyed this book. There were lots of stereotypical and cliched serial killer elements, but I loved his style of writing, especially the title-characters slightly twisted sense of humour. It was different enough from the TV series (which I love!) that I could enjoy without comparing to (a nice change after just finishing another Harry Potter novel...).
Worth a read anyway, unless of course you have a slightly queasy stomach. There were a few parts in there that I definitely could've done without reading.
