I can't believe that it's nearly the end of the year! This year has really flown by for me, so I had this bizarre thought at some unGodly hour this morning that I should actually reflect back and see where I'm at with the goals I set at the end of last year. I'm not sure I actually achieved any of them but I think it's worth having a look...
1. To reduce my body fat down to 22%. Ok, this one I didn't do, but with good reason. I'm not sure if when I set that goal if I was aware that my body fat % was at about 38%. Since then I acquired that information and set a more realistic goal of reducing down under 30% this year and then going for more next year. So, I'm happy to put a big tick in the box for this one because at my last check-in my body fat was sitting at about 28% - 10% lower than at the start of the year!! 10% in one year is plenty I think.
2. To reduce my body weight to 68kg. So close, but not quite enough. I'm down to around 69kg right now (8kg's lighter than the start of the year). I'd reset that one about a month ago as 67kg by Christmas. We'll see how I go...
3. Savings... I think I'll let that one go... That's a big NO to goal three.
4. Teaching at Genesis Fitness - Doing it right now!
5. Marathon in Melbourne... - This one I really wanted to do, but if you've been reading this blog regularly you'll know it was a little out of my control. I'm still hoping to do it, but the guidelines the cardiologist gave me mean that I won't do it before next year...
6. Holiday - Big yes! to that. And we even went in March.
7. Accepted into a PhD program - Did that! Even if there were so many complications and problems that I'll be putting it back for awhile, I did actually get accepted.
How many goals were there... This is the biggest list ever!
8. Journalism - Well, I didn't get anything published, but I did contact heaps of magazines, etc. I'm in a really good place with my writing at the moment and really hoping to do something more in that field. Wish me luck because writing/journalism is a really big focus of mine right now.
And there you have it: 5.5 done, 1 out of my control, 1.5 not completed. Not a bad year at all. Now to set next years goals...
