71.0kg!!! Another half kilo, another milestone. I'm on track at the moment. I can't believe how much easier it is to run fast when you strip some weight off. My heart rates are getting lower every week, my times are getting faster and for the first time in years running actually feels comfortable. I can't believe I'm at 71kg, I am so close to being at my old 'normal' weight (68kg). I'm hoping to hit lower though as my fitness improves. The only thing I'm really aiming for is peak conditioning so that I can keep my heart as healthy as possible and never ever have to have the surgery (touch wood!).
Running is on track. I'm getting very close to doing 60mins at a heart rate under 180bpm. If I had my way I'd be running the Melbourne marathon in October, but I think that will be pushing it. I'm caught between pushing myself to get it done and sticking with the slow steady trudge that seems to be working. More likely that I'll do the New Zealand marathon in March next year. (What an excellent excuse to duck to another country for a few days!)
Not all good news though. I've managed to strain a muscle in my back, and before you ask I have no idea how I did it and no I didn't strain it doing anything nasty. ;) I'm off for some deep tissue massage (translation = torture) this afternoon. That is if I don't chicken out... How can something so painful be good for you?

You rock girl! Well done, and don't get too hung up on the magic numbers, it's wonderful to know that you're healthy and in great shape :D
To bad about your back tho, good luck with the torture
